Château

du Mass

This beautiful château saw the light of day in the 13th century towards the end of the middle ages, where it was primarily used by the clergy as a convent. The château then became a home for Knights in the 18th century before becoming part of the Dumas family estates in 1965.

This historic château, surrounded by low-depth vineyards is found in the Saint-Gervais village three kilometers from the town Saint-André de Cubzac. The low-depth soil in this area is due to the fact that the village rests on the mother limestone rock, from which stones were extracted to build the city of Bordeaux.

Clay-limestone soil in the south of the ‘Bordeaux’ designation of origin, brushed by the Aquitaine wind and the Gironde estuary.

Climate

The temperate climate in the Bordeaux designation of Origin is favorable to our grape variety; Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Environment

Our parcels are maintained by our wine-growers throughout the year. The growers adapt their work techniques regarding the vines depending on the soils characteristic and the climate conditions.
